The Nokia N810, like all Nokia Internet Tablets, runs "Maemo", the handheld operating system, and provides the perfect central point from which all your applications and settings are easily accessed. Your Home screen is divided into areas for launching applications, a menu bar, and a large customisable area that can display information such as an RSS Feed reader, Internet radio player, and Google search box for example.
The N810 is bundled with several applications including the Mozilla-based MicroB browser, Adobe Flash, Gizmo, and Skype. It is compatible with any software designed for Maemo, and supports most common file formats. Which makes it one of the very best hand-held Internet browsers on the market!

| I just bought this, after reading the reviews. I am pleased with it. I like all the free software that can be downloaded to it. My Tungsten I had to purchase all the games. I was a little disapointed it did not use a regular adapter for the 8mg micro mini SD card. I have placed another order for the adapter. Overall I am pleased with this tablet. TigerDirect was fast with the shipment. |

The web browser on n810 blows the Iphones away! It is flash enabled (Which the Iphone is NOT!), and renders the page just like a PC! Bluetooth technology lets you sync the device to your cell phone...so if you have a data plan...you no longer have to use the mobile web! If you do purchase the n810.....bookmark maemo.org. This site has THOUSANDS of apps for your n810. 100's of games (Including a NES and game boy emulators!) best of all...THEY ARE ALL FREE!!!! Trusr me....as soon as you pick this device up....it will be hard to put down!

| I purchased this to use the GPS. The GPS on my unit doesn't work. It finds an occasional satellite. The unit does work okay with a bluetooth GPS. Also the webcam has little use as it doesn't work with skype and also as the aperature and the screen are on the same side it is pratically useless as a camera.
All is a hassle with this unit if you live in a windows world-- import of contacts, etc.
I haven't found any real reason for this device as compared with my smartphone. |

| Two complaints about the N810 I just got.
1. The GPS takes forever to lock onto the satellites. I've only got it to work twice.
2. SanDisk's web site says that the N810 can take a SanDisk 8GB SDHC card but it won't. I'm on the phone with Nokia support right now and they say it will only work with a Nokia card $130.86 including shipping AFTER $20 off the price.
The good thing about the N810 is after downloading all the new operating system (which deletes anything you put on it and didn't have backed up already) is the internet works fine. If you're buying it for that it works great. |
